Today, December 21, Thai military forces continued to shell Cambodian territory in several areas, including Ta Mone Thom Temple, Thma Daun, Boeung Trakoun and Prey Chan villages, using artillery, mortars, tanks, and reconnaissance drones, according to the Ministry of National Defence.
Ministry spokesperson Maly Socheata told a morning press briefing that Thai forces had continued their illegal invasion of Cambodian territory as of 8am today.
The shelling began in Military Region 4, specifically Oddar Meanchey province, with Thai forces firing three mortar rounds into the Ta Mone Thom Temple area at 12.05am. Later, at 6.15am, artillery and tank rounds targeted the Thma Daun and Ta Mone Temple areas, followed by additional artillery and support weapons fire into the Ta Mone Temple vicinity at 6.25am.
In Military Region 5, encompassing Banteay Meanchey province, the situation also saw renewed aggression. At 5.50am, Thai forces fired shells into the Boeung Trakoun area. Further escalation occurred at 6.09am when Thai reconnaissance drones violated Cambodian sovereignty in the Prey Chan area, which was then subjected to shelling at 7.09am.
