Cambodian footwear exports continue to show positive signs, with export revenues in the first 10 months of 2025 reaching over $1.7 billion, an increase of 30% compared to the same period in 2024.
According to the Cambodia Footwear Association (CFA), the growth serves as a positive indicator for the national economy, reflecting both expansion and resilience within the export sector.
In a November 11 newsletter, the CFA reported that between January and October 2025, footwear exports totalled $1.73 billion, up 30% compared to the same period in 2024.
For October 2025 alone, footwear exports amounted to $139.29 million, up 41.3% from September 2025 and 64.3% higher than October 2024.
“This upward trend is positive indicator for the country’s economy, suggesting a robust and growth export sector,” said the CFA.
In 2024, Cambodia exported $1.68 billion worth of footwear, up 23% over 2023.
CFA president Ly Kunthai told The Post that the surge in export earnings reflects Cambodia’s ability to maintain its export markets — especially key destinations such as the US, Canada and the EU — while many factory owners continue expanding and seeking new markets across various countries.
He added that the reduction of import tariffs on Cambodian goods entering the US market has also been a crucial factor, helping boost orders and strengthen the presence of Cambodian footwear internationally. The export growth, he noted, would also attract more foreign direct investment into Cambodia.
“Based on current trends and the supporting factors mentioned above, we are optimistic that Cambodia’s footwear exports to international markets will continue to grow through the end of 2025. This growth will be driven by investor confidence, exploration of new markets and the stability of both domestic and international economic and investment policies,” he said.
“The increase in imports of raw materials also indicates that orders remain steady and that production activity continues to rise,” he noted.
The General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) reported that from January to October 2025, Cambodia’s total trade volume with all partners was $52.58 billion, up 16.5% from the $45.14 billion recorded in the same period last year. Exports totalled $24.94 billion (up 15.2%), while imports were $27.63 billion (up 17.7%).
According to Kunthai, Cambodian footwear products are gaining wider international recognition for quality, with major global brands such as Adidas, VF Corporation and Skechers producing goods in the Kingdom.
The main sources of investment in the country’s footwear manufacturing industry come from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and South Korea.
“Cambodia continues to attract investors interested in establishing footwear factories. In fact, several new factories have already been registered and begun construction activities in 2025,” added Kunthai.
