English midfielder Charlie Scott suffered a fractured left collarbone as defending champions Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng steamrolled his Boeung Ket side 3-0 on Sunday night, while Visakha were forced to accept a draw against rising power MOI Kampong Dewa.
At the Morodok Techo National Stadium, Scott was stretchered off and rushed to hospital after showing severe pain in his left shoulder, following a heavy fall during a collision with Svay Rieng defender Sophal Dimong in the 46th minute.
Medical checks confirmed a collarbone fracture. Further X-rays are required to determine whether surgery is needed or if non-movement treatment is sufficient.
Dimong expressed his regrets immediately after the game, via social media.
“Very sorry, and wishing you a speedy recovery Charlie Scott,” he posted.
Boeung Ket head coach Conor Nestor lamented the injury, noting the team has now lost another key player, while also taking responsibility for the defeat. His side conceded two early goals within the first five minutes.

“Going 2-0 down that early in the first half is on me as coach, because it happened so fast,” he said after the match.
“I don’t have further updates yet on Charlie Scott. We’ve only played three matches, but already had two players rushed to hospital. Now I must reorganise the team,” he added.
In Sunday’s clash, Svay Rieng striker Peprah Kwame struck twice in the 2nd and 5th minutes, while defender Soeuy Visal added a third in the 83rd minute, sealing a 3-0 victory. Remarkably, this was the fourth consecutive 3-0 win for Svay Rieng.
Head coach Matthew McConkey accepted that his earlier fears about a short turn around following the club’s 3-0 away win over Myanmar’s Shan United on August 21 may have been unfounded, while musing on the team’s triple-goal habit.

“I don’t know why we’ve been winning 3-0 in our last four straight games, but in each match we’ve played well. However, in the last 20–30 minutes we tend to stop pushing forward, and that’s something we need to fix,” noted the Northern Irishman.
Meanwhile, Visakha coach Gerard Jones was unable to find a way to guide his side to an expected victory over hosts MOI Kampong Dewa. Despite Sin Kakada giving Visakha the lead in the 55th minute, a late mistake by goalkeeper Keo Soksela — who fouled striker Patrick Carvalho Nonato in the box — handed MOI a penalty.
Nonato calmly converted from the spot in the 81st minute to secure a 1-1 draw for the home side.
Elsewhere, Angkor Tiger thrashed hosts Kirivong Sok Sen Chey 4-0. On Saturday, NagaWorld defeated ISI Dangkor Sen Chey 3-0, while Phnom Penh Crown were held to a tough 1-1 draw away to Royal Cambodian Armed forces FC.
