Malaysia has pledged to halt new oil palm plantations in forest areas to support sustainability and maintain its current forest cover of 54%, says Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani. Japan is expected to offer low-carbon projects to its partner countries during the upcoming Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) ministerial meeting in Jakarta, in an effort to push for decarbonisation efforts in the region. Eight people, including six children, have lost their lives in the landslides in Badigad, Baglung. The landslide, which started on Tuesday morning in Badigad-9, Balghas, killed 15-year-old Bidhan Pariyar and 24-year-old Ganga Basnet.
