The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has in the first three months of this year announced its approval of final registration certificates for 41 projects with total capital investment of more than $2.39 billion that are expected to create 40,147 jobs. Cambodia exported over 3.4 million tonnes of agricultural products to international markets in the first quarter of 2022 – an 11 per cent increase in volume from the same period a year ago, according to figures from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The General Department of Taxation (GDT) on March 30 set a new record for single-day revenue collection of $236 million, Prime Minister Hun Sen has announced. Cement production in the Kingdom reached 1,524,248 tonnes in the first two months of this year, up by 2.08 per cent from the 1,493,212 tonnes logged in January-February 2021, according to the Cambodia Cement Manufacturing Association (CCMA). Cambodia netted more than $77 million from rubber latex and wood exports in the first two months of 2022, according to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery’s General Directorate of Rubber. The directorate said the total export of rubber latex in January-February was 48,509 tonnes, raking in $76.88 million. The average price of rubber during this period was $1,585 per tonnes, indicating a minor decrease over the same period last year.
