Phnom Penh Municipal Court has sentenced former Oknha (tycoon) Srey Sina, 51, to 31 years in prison and ordered him to pay nearly $3 million in fines and compensation to victims. Sina was convicted on charges of murder, attempted murder, assault, unauthoried use of a weapon and residential trespass. The case involved a shooting incident in Phnom Penh’s Chbar Ampov district, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others.
The Ministry of Health has reported an increase in measles cases across 17 provinces, with 375 cases detected over the past 12 months. The ministry noted that the number of cases has been rising steadily, particularly in schools and certain border provinces, since October 2024.
