A total of 64 South Korean citizens, five of them women, were deported yesterday, October 17, for their part in Cambodia-based online crimes. The deportees were expected to face charges from South Korean authorities as soon as they arrived home. The Secretariat of the Ad Hoc Commission to Combat Online Crimes has released the results of its latest campaign to crack down on internet crimes. From June 27 to October 14, under the guidance of the secretariat, Cambodian authorities raided 92 locations across the Kingdom. During this period, they detained 3,455 suspects from 20 nationalities. The detainees included Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Thai, South Korean, Pakistani, Nepali, Malaysian, Japanese, Myanmar, Filipino, Lao, Cameroonian, Nigerian, Ugandan, Sierra Leonean, Mongolian and Russian citizens.
