Around 150 high-quality Khmer product booths — out of a total of 250 — are participating in the “Cambodia Trade Expo (CTExpo)” event, which is expected to significantly contribute to promoting Cambodian products to international markets and serve as a platform for meetings between Cambodian and international investors.
The expo is a major annual event initiated and organised by the Ministry of Commerce. The event was first held in 2006, with 2025 marking its 18th edition. CTExpo 2025 is taking place from December 4–7, at the PH Grand Hall Center, Borey Peng Huoth Boeng Snor, Phnom Penh, under the theme “Trade Renaissance: Local Products Empowerment”.
During the December 4 inauguration ceremony, commerce minister Cham Nimul explained that the goal of CTExpo 2025 is to promote and support local products. Many local producers and companies have brought their products to showcase at the event. She added that the expo is also taking place at a time when the trend of supporting local products is rising.
She said that besides exhibiting high-quality Cambodian products and imported goods, CTExpo will also include several accompanying events, such as product exhibitions and sales, a forum on Cambodia’s export sector, a business-matching programme on developing markets for Cambodia’s potential products, a student competition and musical performances.
Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, first vice-chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), described the trade fair as creative, vibrant and diverse, and organised in alignment with current developments. CTExpo will showcase Cambodia’s potential products and services, create opportunities for business matching between local and international enterprises, and promote Cambodia’s economic, trade and investment progress.
“I hope this expo will become a driving force in accelerating and stimulating domestic commercial activities and strengthening local market connections, providing Cambodian producers with market opportunities and advancing their production capacity to supply domestic markets gradually, reducing reliance on imports,” he said.
“Furthermore, I believe it will help local and international businesses and investors better understand Cambodia’s investment potential, incentive packages and the various advantages offered by the Royal Government, forming a foundation for considering investment in Cambodia or partnering to bring high-quality Cambodian products to foreign markets,” he added.
According to the commerce ministry, the event was originally known as the “Cambodian Products and Import-Export Goods Exhibition (CIEGE)”. The change of name aims to make the event’s title simpler, reflect excellence and be more attractive to modern and dynamic marketplaces, which emphasise high quality and simplicity.
