Telecommunications operator Metfone has secured approval from Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism to collaborate on a new digital campaign aimed at showcasing the Kingdom’s culinary heritage and tourism potential.
The partnership was confirmed during a March 25 meeting between His Excellency Minister of Tourism Huot Hak and Metfone representatives, led by Vice Director of B2B Ouk Chipphal.
At the centre of the collaboration is “My Village, My Food by Metfone”, a travel and food video series highlighting local cuisine and cultural experiences across Cambodia. The project, already filmed and in post-production, will feature seven episodes covering key destinations including Kampot-Kep, Pursat, Siem Reap, Battambang, Takeo and Preah Sihanouk provinces.
The series will be broadcast soon, with new episodes released every Saturday over a seven-week period via all Metfone and MoT’s digital platforms, including Facebook, YouTube and TikTok.
Metfone explained that the initiative is designed to promote Cambodia’s diverse landscapes and culinary traditions through an engaging travel vlog format, targeting both domestic and international audiences.
“As part of the partnership, the company requested permission to feature the Ministry of Tourism’s logo in the video series and to have the content shared across the ministry’s official digital channels to expand its reach,” according to the company.
Speaking during the meeting, His Excellency Huot Hak welcomed the initiative and praised Metfone’s long-standing presence in Cambodia, noting the company’s role in supporting economic development over the past 17 years.
He formally endorsed the collaboration and encouraged the firm to continue producing content that promotes tourism, in partnership with the ministry.
The minister expressed confidence that the campaign would gain significant visibility across multiple media platforms, contributing to ongoing efforts to position Cambodia as an attractive destination for cultural and culinary tourism.
The initiative underscores Metfone’s broader strategy to go beyond telecommunications services by aligning with government priorities, particularly in promoting tourism and national identity through digital innovation.
