The Ministry of National Defence has denied reports by Thai media outlets claiming that Cambodia is using foreign mercenaries to help launch suicide drones in the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
The ministry considered the claims as “false, fabricated, fake and a smear against Cambodia”.
Thai media reported today, December 11, that Thai military sources in Army Region 2 suspected that “English-speaking foreigners” are controlling the drones. They accused Cambodia of hiring mercenaries to conduct drone strikes at the An Ses border pass.
“Cambodia demands that the Thai side cease the intentional dissemination of false information aimed at diverting attention from its violations of international law by smearing Cambodia, and using these lies as an excuse to use more brutal weapons,” said the ministry.
