Cambodian youth are being positioned at the forefront of strengthening economic ties between Cambodia and the US, through the upcoming “Ambassador’s Youth Forum: Voices of Tomorrow”.

Organised by the US Ambassador’s Youth Council, the forum will take place on March 28 under the theme, “Leveraging Local Products for Global Competitiveness: Cambodia–US Perspectives on Trade, Innovation and Youth Entrepreneurship”.

The initiative highlights the growing role of young leaders in shaping bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

“The event will bring together representatives from the US embassy, Cambodian government officials, entrepreneurs and business leaders to discuss expanding local products into international markets, promoting innovation and supporting youth entrepreneurship,” said the organisers.

They explained that the forum is designed to give young participants direct access to policymakers and diplomats, allowing them to contribute ideas and perspectives on Cambodia’s economic development.

“Fifty youth from across the country will be selected to join panel discussions and dialogue sessions with US diplomats and Cambodian officials,” they said.

“Three main panels will focus on trade cooperation, innovation-driven growth and strategies to strengthen Cambodia’s local products for global competitiveness,” they added.

Participants must attend a March 21 orientation to prepare for professional engagement in English with diplomats and government representatives.

Applicants must be Cambodian citizens aged 18 to 30 with a strong interest in leadership and social issues.

The forum reflects a broader push to involve Cambodia’s next generation in economic diplomacy, as the country seeks to enhance competitiveness and deepen trade relations with the US.
