Unrelenting Thai airstrikes on Cambodia have continued, with their renewed bombing raids reported in Preah Vihear province this afternoon, December 19.

According to local media outlet Fresh News, the latest bombing took place at 3.45pm, with Thai air force F-16 fighter jets attacking targets in Choam Khsant district. The reports have yet been verified.

Minister of Information Neth Pheatra took to social media to refute Thai military claims that they only target military positions. He presented tragic photos of a warehouse in Poipet town, Banteay Meanchey province, which was bombed by Thai F-16s on December 19.

“The Thai military has claimed that its bombing operations targeted military positions; however, in reality, F-16 fighter jets dropped bombs in Poipet and Serei Saophoan towns in Banteay Meanchey province, striking civilian areas,” he said.

“The Thai military is deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in its aggressive attacks against Cambodian territory. These acts of armed aggression by the Thai military constitute violations of international law, for which Thailand bears full and unequivocal responsibility,” he added.
