Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Dith Tina on February 24 visited Kirisu Farm, a local company producing fresh milk, and inspected its production chain which he said had ensured quality products for consumers.
Following the visit he posted on social media, saying he asked the farm to use locally produced animal feed.
“I am proud of the [company’s] effort and I hope that the company, which is expanding its production line, will consider cooperating with local farmers in growing hay for their cows to create jobs for area farmers. That would benefit all sides,” he said, adding that the company should give equal opportunity for farmers in animal feed supply.
The agriculture ministry also said that the minister supports the company in producing nutritious milk which is necessary for physical growth for children.
Kirisu Farm posted on its social media, saying: “We are proud to have welcomed and agriculture minister Dith Tina, his delegation and the media to Kirisu Farm to understand our production chain and the modern equipment at the farm.”
