The manufacturing sector remains a key pillar supporting Cambodia’s economic growth. The number of Chinese tourists traveling to Cambodia in 2025 surged to more than 1.2 million, an increase of over 40% compared to 2024. In 2025, FDI exceeded $5 billion, representing an increase of nearly 20% compared to 2024, with investment capital from China accounting for more than 70%. Money transfer and payment transactions conducted through the Bakong payment system have continued to show steady growth. In 2025, transactions via the Bakong system exceeded 1.3 billion, representing a 20% increase over the previous year.
