The cost of repairing the Cambodian energy infrastructure that was damaged by incursions by Thai forces into the Kingdom’s border provinces is estimated at approximately $10 million. These costs will be fully borne by Electricité du Cambodge (EDC), according to Keo Rottanak, Minister of Mines and Energy. Gross insurance premiums in Cambodia in the fourth quarter of 2025 amounted to nearly $86 million, an increase of more than 15% over Q4 2024. Gross claims paid to customers totalled nearly $23 million, according to the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC). Although armed clashes along the Cambodia–Thailand border prompted the closure of land border crossings, the transportation of goods and passengers by water and air continues to operate normally between the two nations. The government’s customs revenue in 2025 increased by 21% over the previous year. The growth was attributed to a significant rise in imports of key goods, especially vehicles and machinery, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE). The Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) is optimistic that Cambodia’s raw cashew production will continue to expand in the Vietnamese market.
