CP Cambodia, the leading agro-industrial and food conglomerate, hosted the “CP Marketing Summit 2023”aimed at developing the Kingdom’s agro-industry and food sectors.
The event, held at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh on October 26, 2023, was comprised of two sessions – a business review and a seminar.
For the business review, there were 10 topics, with 10 speakers delivering informative presentations on topics such as the animal feed, farming and food businesses, and marketing.
Dr. Poohrich Sinwat, CP Cambodia’s Deputy General Manager of Strategic Development and Marketing, said information and human resources were essential in achieving business success.
“The CP Marketing Summit was initiated in order to gather marketing information and share best practices for business development in Cambodia.
“The key to success in doing business is having the necessary information and human resources – the business with the right information at the right time will gain a significant advantage.
“Having the staff, the human resources, able to transform this information into knowledge that leads to successful action is vital,” noted Dr. Poohrich Sinwat.
In his opening remarks, Wittaya Kreangkriwit, the President of CP Cambodia, spoke of the importance of meeting customers’ needs.
“Marketing is necessary to understand customers’ needs and then create solutions for them. Whoever can best satisfy customers will be successful.
“Farmers and consumers in Cambodia have changed. It is now necessary to understand their goals and problems, and then use this knowledge along with technology to help them grow their businesses and meet their demands,” said Wittaya Kreangkriwit.
The Thai Ambassador to Cambodia and distinguished guests from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), Ministry of Commerce (MOC), and Royal Thai Embassy were invited to the seminar as honourable speakers.
This session sought to explore the opportunities available when conducting business in Cambodia in 2024, and the potential challenges.
Thai Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Cherdkiat Atthakor in his opening speech emphasised the huge importance of agriculture in the Kingdom.
“Agriculture and food play an important role in Cambodia’s economic development, as well as for the wellbeing of the Cambodian people.
“CP Cambodia takes pride in having been the first Thai company to support and provide knowledge to Cambodian farmers, empowering them to secure stable employment and decent incomes.
“Moreover, CP manufactures food products with the highest standards of hygiene, ensuring the wellbeing of consumers, as well as food safety and food security in Cambodia,” stated H.E. Cherdkiat Atthakor.
Seang Soklim, the Director of Cambodia’s Department of Animal Health and Production, highlighted the policies designed to support the sub-sector.
“The strategies for implementing support policies in the animal health and animal production sub-sector in Cambodia reflect four key considerations.
“The first refers to the role and responsibilities of the General Directorate of Animal Health and Production, while the second concerns support policies for sub-sector development.
“The third refers to the achievements in the sub-sector in the five years from 2018-2022, with the fourth concerning challenges and opportunities, as well as strengthening international cooperation in the fields of production and animal health,” said Seang Soklim.
H.E. Var Roth San, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, hailed the Kingdom’s “attractive and reliable” investment law.
“Cambodia’s investment law focuses on three key aspects – the related open economy; investment incentives; and special incentives.
“These factors, which are attractive and reliable for all invest-ments in Cambodia, are equally guaranteed, whether for foreign or domestic investors,” he said.
Nirawat Rangseekanjana, the Director Minister Counsellor (Commercial) at the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, outlined “three key considerations regarding the latest regulations for doing business in Cambodia in 2024 – taxation law; competition and consumer protection law; and intellectual property law”.
At the conclusion of the “CP Marketing Summit 2023”, CP Cambodia management presented the speakers with certificates and souvenirs of the event, and wished all participants the greatest success in further developing the Kingdom’s agro-industry and food sectors.
