Lay Chhun Hour, president of the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF), will lead a delegation of CRF members, representatives from the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB) and Khmer Enterprise (KE) entrepreneurs to a major food industry trade fair in Germany next month.

The ANUGA 2025 – International Food Industry Trade Fair will be held from October 4–8, in Cologne.

According to a press release from the CRF, the delegation will consist of 45 Cambodian participants from 16 institutions, including 13 CRF-member rice exporting companies, along with representatives from ARDB and KE.

This will mark the second time Cambodia has participated in the event, having attended in 2023. For this year’s event, the CRF has arranged a beautifully designed Cambodian national pavilion which will cover 96 square metres in Hall 2.1 of the Koelnmesse Exhibition Center.

Their participation is being supported by the Ministry of Commerce.

The ANUGA fair was established in 1919 and has since evolved into a major global platform for food and beverage industry experts and decision-makers.

During the event, Chhun Hour will deliver a presentation on the progress of Cambodia’s rice sector at the Eurofine Rice Conference 2025.

He will also attend a meeting with the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) Global to discuss the development of the Cambodia SRP National Chapter. The delegation will also meet with Euricom, one of the largest rice importers and distributors in Europe, headquartered in Milan, Italy.

According to the CRF, from January to August 2025, Cambodia exported 472,803 tonnes of rice to 66 countries/territories, generating approximately $348.18 million. Compared to the same period in 2024, this represents a 14.75% increase in export volume (from 412,023 tonnes) and a 14.1% increase in revenue (from $305.15 million).

In the past eight months, Cambodia also exported 848,835 tonnes of paddy rice to neighbouring countries, generating $114.25 million, compared to the 331,592 tonnes and $91.16 million recorded during the same period last year.
