Despite ongoing clashes between Cambodian and Thai troops over the current border dispute, the status of commercial flights between Cambodia and Thailand remains unaffected, according to the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA).
Speaking to The Post earlier today, July 24, SSCA spokesperson Sin Chansereyvutha stated that although fighting between Cambodian and Thai troops broke out at several locations in the morning, commercial flights between the two countries were continuing as usual, as of this afternoon. There had been no reports of flight cancellations.
“As of this afternoon, the situation regarding passenger transport on the Phnom Penh–Bangkok and Siem Reap–Bangkok routes remains unchanged,” he said.
He added that operations in the airspace of both countries continue as normal, with no rerouted or diverted flights.
“Overall, there has not been any significant impact,” he continued.
On the morning of July 24, clashes erupted between Cambodian and Thai troops along the Cambodia–Thailand border in Oddar Meanchey and Preah Vihear provinces. Thai troops reportedly initiated the attack.
