Foundation for Refugees Assistance urges continued public contributions as thousands of families remain in urgent need along the borders.
Eleven trucks loaded with essential food items and daily necessities departed from Wing Bank Tower in Phnom Penh. They were bound for Koh Kong and Pursat provinces to assist families displaced by the recent border conflict.
The trucks were packed with 30 tonnes of rice, 2,000 cases of instant noodles, and 3,000 units each of mosquito nets, blankets, sleeping mats, scarves and sarongs, along with many other essential items of daily life.
“I am deeply thankful to the philanthropists for their love and care toward the community in need,” said Bunthe Hor, Deputy CEO at Wing Bank. “Your contributions, in whatever form, mean a great deal to the displaced families.”
“We strive for Khmer. We will never give up on one another,” he added.
The relief materials were made possible through public donations to the Foundation for Refugees Assistance, which aims to deliver urgent relief to hundreds of thousands of Cambodian families in the provinces most affected by the fighting, including Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Pursat, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Koh Kong and Siem Reap.
This initiative is led Neak Oknha Kith Meng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wing Bank and Chairman & CEO of Royal Group of Companies; and Lok Chumteav Neak Oknha Mao Chamnan, Vice-Chairwoman of the Royal Group of Companies and President of the Khmer Artists Association.
In recent days, employees of Wing Bank, Royal Group and its subsidiaries, together with members of the Khmer Artists Association, have come together to raise funds and pack materials into trucks quickly to ensure delivery timely to those in need.
Wing Bank employees also demonstrated their solidarity by donating 5% of their salaries, marking the third round of contributions since the border dispute erupted in mid-2025. The first round took place in June, followed by the second in August.
More donations from Wing Bank, Royal Group and its subsidiaries, and the Khmer Artists Association are expected in the coming days. The Foundation for Refugees Assistance continues to accept donations from the public to support displaced families along the borders. Donations can be made at the collection point near Bayon Market (west of Central Market), at the Cellcard Head Office, or via the attached QR code through any bank.
