Local theatre troupe Lo-Key has announced plans to drag audiences behind the curtains and into a world of suspense and supernatural intrigue this Halloween with its new interactive event, Escape the Haunted Theatre. Staged within an eerie theatre, reportedly abandoned five years ago after a disastrous, secret performance, this immersive experience invites groups of up to eight to help a paranormal investigator uncover the chilling truth of what happened on that fateful night.
Courageous members of the public are invited to throw themselves into a heady mix of the macabre and the mirthful, with practical effects and terrifying characters, including a rumoured appearance by the ghost of Séance Knowles herself.
The premise for the experience draws from the theatre’s grisly history. Five years ago, a mysterious performance concluded with the sudden, inexplicable disappearance of both the cast and the audience. The theatre was sealed, leaving only rumours of murder and a malevolent mist. This October, the doors are creaking open for a limited time for brave participants who are willing to assist in solving the case, long considered as cold as the grave.
“This isn’t a passive show; it’s an opportunity for participants to become part of the story and piece together the puzzle themselves,” said a spokesperson for Lo-Key.
“We’ve created a narrative that blurs the line between a show and a real-life mystery. We invite only the bravest to step inside and find out if they can uncover the truth before the past reclaims them,” they warned.
