Despite a ceasefire mediated by President Donald Trump, Thai troops continue to launch aggressive attacks on Cambodian territory, using heavy weaponry, drones and cluster bombs.

Mali Socheata, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, told a 7am press conference on July 27 that hostilities had escalated since early on July 26.

She noted that on that day, at 5am, Thai forces shelled the Bosbov area. Later, at 10.40am, Thai aircraft bombed a road leading to the Preah Vihear Temple.

At 11.56am, Thai warplanes released cluster munitions over Phnum Khmoach (Ghost Mountain). By 2.30pm, Thai tanks launched attacks in the Eagle Field area, further intensifying the conflict.

“At 2am on the 27th, Thai forces resumed shelling in the Eagle Field area, and by 2.30am, they had launched coordinated strikes on the Tathav and Phnum Khmoach areas, with drones flying overhead,” added Socheata.

From 4.50am, they fired artillery rounds into the Ta Mone Thom and Ta Krabey temple areas. By 6am, their infantry had advanced further into the Phnum Khmoach region.

“In all combat zones, from Ta Krabey to Mom Bei, Thai forces have used artillery, drones and aircraft to launch heavy shells, bombs and cluster munitions on Cambodian soil — particularly targeting Phnum Khmaeng, An Ses and Preah Vihear, where strikes to roads and infrastructure caused significant damage,” said the spokesperson.

“Our forces continue to fight back actively and without retreat. They remain committed to defending our sovereignty,” she contined.
