Or Vandine, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, led a ministry delegation on a visit to medical teams and residents in Banteay Meanchey province’s Prey Chan village, in O’Beichon commune, Ou Chrov district, this morning, October 15.
The visit aimed to assess the health and well-being of community members, as residents have been subjected to a psychological campaign, with loud, “eerie” sounds being broadcast across the border late into the evening. The sounds have caused widespread sleep deprivation and reportedly left many children traumatised and frightened.
Several Cambodian-Americans who once lived in refugee camps near the location of Prey Chan joined the trip.
