The Study in Japan Fair 2023, scheduled for late October at the Cambodian-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC), promises to be a significant chance for students to discover how they might pursue further studies in Japan.
Numerous highly-regarded Japanese universities are set to participate, and will offer a wealth of invaluable information to prospective students.
A press release from the CJCC of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) announced that the academic fair will run on October 27 and 28, and will be open to the public from 9am until 4:30pm both days. 18 Japanese universities and colleges will participate in the event.
Chuop Nady, head of the Japanese-language training and cultural exchange division at RUPP, described her excitement at this year’s event. She highlighted the increased presence of prestigious universities, a notable difference from previous years’ events. The participating higher education institutions are slated to introduce highly sought-after majors, vital skills and scholarship opportunities to aspiring students.
She also explained that the universities will educate visitors on the application procedures for scholarships, guiding them towards embarking on their educational journeys in Japan. Attendees can also expect to receive insights into student accommodation in Japan.
“During the fair, students will have the opportunity to inquire with each university representative about the preparations required to apply to their desired schools,” she said.
Once the students have the information they need, it will be up to them to initiate their individual study plans.
“I believe that by ensuring access to comprehensive knowledge about Japanese universities, this event will benefit Cambodian students and the general public,” added Nady.
Khun Vatey Sreleak, a former scholarship recipient at the CJCC, described her time studying in Japan. She said the unique experience provided her the opportunity to acquire insights from classmates who hailed from diverse corners of the globe, while also receiving guidance from expert professors.
“My time in Japan has notably bolstered my professional acumen and business aspirations. In the future, when I contemplate starting my own enterprise, I envisage that the knowledge gained through my international studies will be immensely valuable,” she added.
She expressed the belief that academic fairs like this one significantly enhance the opportunities available to Cambodian students. Whether they have already completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, the fair gives them the information they need to take their studies to another level.
The Study in Japan Fair has been an annual fixture since 2008.
