Top officials from across the government are due to meet with national team athletes and sports delegates on May 1 to encourage them to win as many medals as possible during the 32nd SEA Games and 12th ASEAN Para Games, Prime Minister Hun Sen announced in an April 28 press statement issued by the Council of Minsters .

He said the government is set to welcome the athletes and sports delegates of the countries participating in the event and hold the competition smoothly and solemnly.

He expressed hopes that everyone attending would enjoy the event and that it would strengthen the bonds of solidarity and friendship between ASEAN member nations.

He reiterated that the government would not charge any entry fees, accommodation, food or transport charges to any of the athletes participating in either event.

“The government is providing free tickets to the 32nd SEA Games and 12th ASEAN Para Games 2023 for sports fans, but only  to the limit of the venue capacities,” said the statement.

He emphasised that capital and provincial administrations have to take care to make it easier for people to watch the games for free in public places away from the competition venues and broadcast the events live at appropriate locations in their localities to better guarantee public security, safety and order.
