One need only look at how Thailand has attempted to be strategic in its actions along the border, which can be characterized as “grey zone warfare”. US President Trump is familiar with this type of conflict in Ukraine, so it can be surmised that he will exercise increasingly firm pressure to ensure both parties resolve the conflict in a peaceful way.
For Cambodia, it would be wise for Government staff to research the conflict and strategies employed to build momentum toward peace in Ukraine. The circumstances are not the same, but there are lessons learned and insights from this conflict that are informative to Cambodia’s border conflict with Thailand.
