Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng Football Club maintained its domestic dominance by once again claiming the title of Cambodian Super Cup 2025 champions, defeating Phnom Penh Crown in a dramatic penalty shootout. However, no victory celebrations were held. Instead, all proceeds from the event were donated to a fund supporting the Kingdom’s military and the many Cambodians who have been displaced by the recent border conflict with Thailand.
In the match, held at the National Olympic Stadium on Sunday night, Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah scored early in the 16th minute to give Svay Rieng the lead. Phnom Penh Crown equalised in the 67th minute through Makerlo Tellez.
In the 87th minute, goalkeeper Um Vichet made a poor clearance, giving Peprah a second opportunity to score and putting Svay Rieng in the lead again.
Somehow, newly transferred striker Sa Ty, formerly of Visakha FC, scored in injury time (90+3) to make it 2–2, forcing the match into a penalty shootout.
Svay Rieng goalkeeper Vireak Dara saved Phnom Penh Crown’s fourth penalty, taken by Sa Ty.

Sieng Chanthea, recently signed from Boeung Ket, sealed the win with Svay Rieng’s fifth successful penalty, giving them a 5–3 victory.
Despite the triumph, no official celebration or trophy-raising ceremony was held.
Team captain Soeuy Visal received the trophy alone from Sam Ang Vattanac, the major sponsor of the cup.
This decision was made to honour the sacrifice of those members of the Cambodian armed forces who gave their lives in the defence of the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, as well as to support the displaced citizens who have been affected by Thai incursions.
In addition, all proceeds from match ticket sales were donated to a fund which supports the military and displaced supporting both the military and displaced citizens.
The club also donated its 12 million riel (approximately $3,000) prize money to the same cause.
In a statement released after the match, the club shared its proud patriotic gesture.
“Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng would like to inform the Cambodian public that all prize money from our victory in the Cambodian Super Cup 2025 will be donated to the fund supporting the military and displaced persons. We stand united — for Cambodia,” it said.
