A manhunt is currently underway for five of six Vietnamese prisoners who escaped form Svay Rieng Provincial Court this morning, November 18. One of the six was recaptured within an hour of the break, while the remaining five escapees and their accomplices remain at large. Environmental officials are attending the scene of a Pursat province railway accident which saw several tanker wagons leave the tracks at around 6am this morning, November 17. More than 100,000 litres of diesel was reportedly spilt in the crash, which saw three out of 24 fuel tankers on a fuel train derailed in Chreh village, in Bakan district’s O’Tapong commune. The Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) cleared more than 40,000 landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) and provided mine-risk education to over 2 million people during the first 10 months of 2025. In a statement on Saturday, 15 November, CMAC reported that from January to October 2025, its mine action operations achieved several significant results. These include the clearance of 14,397 hectares of minefields and areas contaminated with explosive remnants of war (ERW), as well as the discovery and removal of 43,916 mines and UXO.
