Eight Cambodian men have been arrested and four handguns seized in connection with impersonating law enforcement officers to kidnap and extort money from multiple foreign nationals in Phnom Penh. The Phnom Penh Police busted the gang, who disguised themselves as police officers to detain foreigners and extort money from them several times at various locations across the capital. A woman was killed and a man seriously injured after a fire consumed 11 homes at around 8pm on Friday, November 21, Phnom Penh’s Roluos village, in Dangkor district’s Cheung Ek commune. Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to dispatch joint survey teams to carry out fieldwork near Chouk Chey and Prey Chan villages, in Bateay Meanchey province’s Ou Beichoan commune, Ou Chrov district, in order to determine the temporary placement of border markers 42-47.
