Two ministries have announced the expansion of a pilot programme to improve the comfort and safety of vehicles transporting factory workers, as well as to improve the inspections of transport vehicles, in Kampong Chhnang province. The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration has denied requests from vendors who sought to keep their roadside and kerb locations around the Deum Kor Market. In order to enhance the aesthetics of the capital, they will be relocated to the New Deum Kor wholesale vegetable and fruit market in Prek Pnov district, as originally planned. The Ministry of Environment has rejected a report by Thai media outlet The Nation which claimed that air pollution in Bangkok originates from fires in Cambodia, describing it as an attempt to “shift the blame onto Cambodia”. About 300,000 of the 540,000 Cambodians displaced by the border clashes with Thailand have received education on the dangers posed by explosive ordnance. Operators form the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) are currently working to clear explosive remnants of war (ERWs) to ensure the safety of displaced populations. The CMAA reported on January 15 that approximately 300,000 displaced people in displacement centres across seven provinces have received ERW awareness training. The number of young people from poor and vulnerable families, as well as members of the general public, applying to enrol in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training program (TVET 1.5M) reached almost 150,000 in 2025. Among them, more than 62,000 applicants hold ID Poor Equity Cards.
