More than 20 candidates sitting today’s high school diploma examinations (Bac II) were affected by health problems, reported the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), which oversees the exams nationwide.
One candidate, Yin Channla, an ethnic Tompuon student (room 28, seat 684) at Samdech Ov Samdech Me High School in Ratanakkiri province, was permitted to take her exam inside an ambulance. However, after her condition worsened, the exam committee approved her transfer to a temporary hospital for further treatment.
Another, El Linna (seat 526, room 22) at Cheasim Takeo Cheung High School, fell ill with dengue fever on exam day, experiencing dizziness that prevented her from sitting in the main hall. She was allowed to sit alone in a separate room, with medical staff providing treatment and allowing her to rest while continuing her test.
Khorn Sovanet (room 1, seat 16) at the Bakou Primary School testing centre, Kandal province, also suffered dizziness and breathing difficulties, reportedly due to lack of sleep. After completing the Khmer literature exam, she was transferred to the medical room, where doctors administered IV serum before she resumed testing, with the physics paper.

In Pursat province, Thorn Kanika (room 25, seat 617) at the Pursat Primary School training centre fainted during the mathematics exam. Doctors diagnosed her with low blood pressure and moved her to the health room.
Orn Sithon (room 27, seat 662) at Hun Sen Serey Pheap High School, Kandal province, suffered dizziness, weakness and shortness of breath. She was treated with IV serum and allowed to take her exam in the medical room. Reports noted she had already been facing health problems since the first exam day.
Additionally, nine additional female candidates reported health problems the same morning.
Among male students, Rocham Chhvin, an ethnic minority candidate (room 25, seat 605) at Hun Sen Phum Thmei High School in Ratanakkiri province, suffered a traffic accident in front of the exam centre, injuring his leg. Unable to sit in the exam hall, he was permitted to continue testing in the health room under medical supervision.
In Siem Reap province, candidate Doung Pone Apya, arrived in serious condition after losing consciousness from a head injury sustained at his accommodation early in the morning. Initially treated at a private hospital, his guardians requested that he be allowed to sit the exam. However, after a medical evaluation at the exam centre, doctors ruled him unfit to test, and he was transferred to Siem Reap Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
Another student, Thy Raktat (room 4, seat 83) in Banteay Meanchey province, suffered headaches and nausea during the exam. He was given medicine by doctors and was able to continue testing.
The ACU added that four more male candidates nationwide also experienced health problems on the same day.
