International organizations are calling on donors to assist Cambodian children who have been relocated to safe areas as the current border conflict continues to escalate. With over 160,000 students affected as of this morning, support is desperately needed for displaced families.
World Vision Cambodia, an international humanitarian organisation focused on child welfare, has appealed for support to help save lives and stand with displaced families in Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces, all of which are severely affected by the ongoing Cambodia–Thailand border crisis.
Donations consist of a $10 Children’s Package that includes learning materials and nutritious food to support displaced children, or a $50 Family Package that provides food, drinking water, blankets, mosquito nets and hygiene kits for a whole family.

The organisation added that its teams in Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey and Preah Vihear are already working at displacement camps to create safe and child-friendly spaces where children can read, play and feel secure amid the ongoing tensions.
They are continuously monitoring the situation and assessing urgent needs, including food, clean water, hygiene items and other emergency supplies.
“We urgently need your support. Every contribution helps protect a child. Every act of kindness brings hope,” it said.
At the same time, UNICEF Cambodia has also appealed to the public to donate to support displaced children and families, to help meet needs related to nutrition, health, sanitation, shelter, education and mental health.

UNICEF teams are present in Preah Vihear province to assess urgent needs in displacement camps where children and families are seeking shelter after fleeing escalating violence along the border. Essential supplies are being prepared for immediate distribution to affected families.
“During crises like this, children are the most vulnerable. They need safe shelter, clean water, nutritious food and mental health support. Every child deserves care and protection — no matter the circumstances,” it said.
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport reported that Thai military incursions into Cambodian territory have disrupted the education of about 163,528 students, with a total of 635 schools closed as of Wednesday morning.
