The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications is conducting a training programme for the officials of its provincial departments across the country.
The workshops aim to help them develop their professional skills and digital knowledge, and shares the latest updates in the evolution of the technology that relates to their work.
The series of workshops are scheduled to run from April 25 to May 25.
The ministry said the training began in Siem Reap province on April 25-27, followed by a session in Pailin from May 9-11. A Kampong Thom province training will be held from May 16-18, followed by one in Preah Sihanouk from May 23-25.
The Pailin workshop was attended by Khay Khun Heng and Ros Sokha, secretaries of state at the ministry. Also participating were 84 civil servants from 14 different provincial telecoms departments.
Khun Heng thanked the speakers for sharing their knowledge and experience of the technological revolution, and offered some advice.
“I encourage all of the participants to pay close attention to the knowledge imparted during the workshop. Take what you have learned and put it to good use as you carry out your day-to-day work at your respective units,” he said.
The ministry explained that the programme aimed to offer new skillsets to the assembled officials, so they could conduct their work in the postal, telecommunication, and information and communications technology (ICT) sectors more efficiently and offer more effective services to the public.
