As of the end of 2025, more than 3,000 large factories were operating in Cambodia, representing an increase of nearly 30% over 2024, according to the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation. A ministry’s report showed that by the end of 2025, Cambodia had 3,083 large factories in operation, an increase of 658 factories or 27.13%. A senior French parliamentarian has pledged to strengthen economic and investment cooperation with Cambodia, as bilateral trade between the two countries reached nearly $570 million in 2025. Panda Commercial Bank Plc has become the second bank in the Kingdom to have its license revoked by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) this year. It follows the closure of Prince Bank Plc. According to a February 23 NBC announcement, the bank has been placed temporary administration, as its financial condition had continuously deteriorated to the point where it would no longer be able to provide banking services. Six companies have expressed interest in establishing cashew processing plants in Cambodia so nuts can be purchased directly from farmers and agricultural communities then turned into finished products for export. In 2025, Cambodia exported approximately 98% of its raw cashew nuts abroad. The member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) are key trading partners of Cambodia. In the first month of 2026, total trade between Cambodia and all RCEP member countries reached approximately $3.76 billion. Several of the Kingdom’s tourism operators have expressed support for the government’s decision to extend tax incentives to tourism enterprises in Siem Reap province through the end of 2026. They hope similar incentives will be extended to tourism businesses in other locations that previously welcomes large numbers of tourists. The total revenue of the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) saw a major jump in revenue in the fourth quarter of 2025. The port announced turnover of over $47 million, an increase of almost 50% over the same period the previous year. Profit has been rising steadily since a major dip in the first quarter of 2025, when just $28.6 million was reported.
