The Ministry of Environment has announced that it will work with the Ministry of Commerce to take legal action against large companies and factories that fail to install automatic air quality monitoring equipment, starting in 2026. In the first nine months of 2025, the Ministry of Interior resolved 600 public complaints of the 775 received. Several officials were disciplined, with some removed from the civil service framework and stripped of their positions. Em Vichet, director-general of the ministry’s General Inspectorate, noted that among the 600 resolved complaints, 287 were administrative and 313 were police-related.
