Almost 1,500 cannabis plants and over six kilogrammes of narcotics were destroyed in a ceremony held on Tuesday, August 26, in the compound of the Kratie Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts. Two Vietnamese man are in custody after a bust in Svay Rieng province’s Bavet town saw more than six kilogrammes of narcotics seized. Authorities say they are searching for four of the men’s accomplices, also believed to be Vietnamese nationals. On August 24, the Svay Rieng Provincial Court announced it had charged the two men with illegal trafficking and use of drugs, as well as illegal possession of ammunition.
